Key Points for Selecting Check Valves

Check valve forward flow, fluid pressure to push the valve open; reverse flow, the valve closes by its own weight or reverse pressure; Suitable for low flow rate, low differential pressure conditions, such as water pump outlet, storage tank outlet.

  • Description

Medium Points

Low pressure clean fluids.

Swing type is more suitable for horizontal pipelines, butterfly type is suitable for occasions where space is limited

High-pressure systems.

Lift type is suitable for high flow rate, double-plate type is suitable for large-diameter pipeline.

Corrosive media.

Diaphragm type is suitable for sanitary system, fluorine lined rotary open type is suitable for large diameter pipeline

Particulate or high viscosity fluids.

Ball type is suitable for small diameter, swing type is suitable for large diameter pipeline

Other considerations

Adaptation of fluid characteristics: according to the medium corrosivity, temperature, viscosity selection check valve type (such as swing type, lifting type, ball type).

Installation direction: ensure that the valve installation direction and media flow direction, to avoid reverse installation failure.

Standards: follow ASME, API and other industry standards to ensure design compliance
